Medical Receptionist

Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC), a leading community mental health provider in northeast Ohio, is seeking a Medical Secretary/Receptionist to join our team.

Our Behavioral Health receptionists are the first line of communication between a client and their therapist and medical provider, whether it’s on the phone or in person. They may answer questions, provide general information or may direct a client to a person who can provide more direct and specific information. Our Behavioral Health receptionists are responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining records by getting the appropriate information from clients, therapists, and medical providers. Being skilled in computer software, such as excel spreadsheets, word processing, and other relevant programs is necessary to perform the required tasks.  Our Behavioral Health receptionists must have excellent communication, customer service and people skills, as well as the ability to multitask and stay organized.
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Prior experience A MUST!!!
  • Computer literate - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling
  • Strong typing and writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exercise a high degree of confidentiality
  • Outgoing personality
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others
  • Sensitivity to the needs of patients with disabilities and diverse backgrounds as well a commitment to community-based healthcare services
  • College graduate preferred
  
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receives all incoming visitors and clients, and routes them to the appropriate person for services
  • Receives and screens all incoming phone calls, take messages and/or forwards to appropriate staff
  • Schedules initial and/or follow up appointments as needed
  • Closely manages schedules for therapists and medical providers and maintains accurate client-provider assignments in EMR
  • Obtains insurance information from clients and verifies with insurance provider
  • Completes and/or provides support for initial intake process for all new clients
  • Organizes and maintains client records
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team player
  • Maintains a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential patient information
  • Keenly aware of all services provided within the agency
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned including filing and scanning
