PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Physician Assistant

Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC), a leading community mental health provider in northeast Ohio, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team. Under the supervision of a physician, you will treat patients who have acute and chronic mental health conditions.  This is an exciting opportunity to work in an outpatient setting as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.

The successful candidate will contribute to a physician's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues; provide information and guidance on treatment, and; implement physician directives.  The PA will be responsible for providing services including: initial assessment for new clients; diagnosis and treatment recommendations; treatment planning, and; follow up planning in collaboration with clinicians and CPST specialists. The practitioner will be relied upon to ensure care is provided in an integrated fashion. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide direct clinical consultation to clients and document care according to state and federal requirements. 
  • Provide behavioral health assessment for new clients, treatment recommendations and treatment planning for clients whose psychotherapy will be provided by other clinicians. 
  • Under the supervision of a Psychiatrist, provide medication management for clients. 
  • Participate in case reviews and sign treatment plan reviews.
  • Provide consultations to clinical and CPST/case management staff.
  • Provide clinical coordination with mental healthcare benefit plans.
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Ohio and Board Certified
  • Preference given to those with at least 2 years of clinical experience; experience in mental health or addiction preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing and database management, are required
  • Experience with electronic medical record preferred
  • Commitment to community based health care services
